9 Days Program Socotra Island

DAY .1  – Arrival Sana`a .

Receiving you at Sana'a airport then transfer to   5* hotel , than  city tour in the old city of Sana'a. Dinner in a local fish restaurant over night in  5* hotel.

DAY.2- Sana’a – Hadibo ( Socotra Island ).

Early flight by Yemenia Sana’a – Socotra, Arrival Socotra , transfer to the hotel, having a rest for one hours and driving to visit Deleisha coast which consists of pristine white sand, relaxing swimming both in the sea and also in a freshwater lagoon, all with a beautiful mountainous background. and back to Hadibo for lunch, afternoon excursion to Wadi Ayhaf visit and back to Hadibo, Dinner and Overnight at   hotel in Hadibo

 DAY. 3- Hadibo - Dihamri

In the way to Dihamri We will stop at Qaria lagoon en-route. Qaria is the largest lagoon on the island and we can hopefully see Flamingos, Herons and Greenshank, amongst others. the Marine Protected Area of Dihamri is the home of  the richest coral reefs of the archipelago Socotra. The many marine animals to be seen whilst swimming/snorkeling include: Parrotfish, Moray eel, Rays, Sea urchins, etc. We would like to remind people not to touch the corals in the marine protected area as this would cause irreversible damage. We will explore this fabulous location and also speak with people from the nearby village. Dinner and overnight camping at Dihamri in the purpose built structure.

Day 4: Dihamri – Homhil.

Today we make our way to Homhil protected area, taking in the fabulous sceneries of deep ravines and plains along the way. Once we are at Homhil, we can walk a selection of trails, one of which takes us to a viewpoint where there us a natural pool and a view villages below on the plain and of the sea. Homhil is home to many Dragons Blood trees, the resin of which is collected, used and traded by the people of Socotra. Frankincense trees are also prevalent here and deserve a close look and visit the area dinner and overnight Camping in the Ecotourism camp.

 Day 5: Homhil - Arher- Qalansya.

Early Morning one hour walking down toward Arher beach on the north east coast, which is a meeting point of salt and fresh water. You will enjoy swimming and exploring this site. then driving toward Qalansiya many stop in the way to discovery different kind of endemic plant of the island of Socotra Lunch in the way pic-nic then arrive in the beach of Qalansya where you will see different kind of birds, dinner and Over night Camping in Qalanisya.

Day 6: Qalansya – Shuab - Dixsam

Early breakfast, then Excursion by boat to Shuab area to see the dolphins playing and swim in near a very pure and clean long sandy beach, once arrive Shuab area we can have a look on the mangrove area. Be sure to look out for Spinner Dolphins along the way. Cormorants also frequent the area. Lunch and departure toward Dixsam plateau with stop in Shebahon viewpoint. This area is renowned for the native Dragon Blood trees, the resin of which is collected, used and traded by the people of Socotra. The area is also home to the endemic and rare Socotra Bunting (estimated at 1,000 pairs). The Shebahon viewpoint gives a fabulous vista overlooking Daerhu canyon where we will see unusual yet beautiful rock formations. We will then make our way down to the wadi in the canyon for lunch and an easy-going walk and maybe also to swim in the freshwater pools in the wadi. Dinner and Overnight Camping in Dixsam.

Day 7: Dixsam – Nawjad- Hadibo.

Driving toward the South to Nawjad with stop in Abatiroh to see the dunes.Then driving back to Hadibo Dinner and Overnight in the Hotel.

Day 8: Hadibo – Sana`a.

Transfer to Socotra airport and flight back to Sana’a, Receiving you at Sana'a airport then transfer to the Hotel ,

DAY.9-  Sana`a – Departure.

Transfer to Sana`a airport for the flight toward Europe.
